Everyone wishes us 'Happy holidays' with much enthusiasm and joy. We all wish to always remain 'Happy'. In this era of excessive completion and stress, we have lost our happiness, as there is no contentment. Ours is a demanding mind. We want more. Since happiness is our true nature and all are knowingly or unknowingly trying to find it, but in external object or person. We should understand that 'Happiness is a state of mind'.

Just like it is necessary to give our body some rest, it is equally important to give our mind some 'rest'. In order to do so, chanting God's name is the best way. But not many can do japa. Hence it is necessary to prepare our mind for japa.

In order to relax the mind, prayer is very important. Prayer helps one to accept that there is higher authority and reduces ego. One may think that s/he can do japa by one's own effort. This is not true. One has to accept that there is a higher authority. Since this world is created, there mush be a 'Creator' of this world. This 'Creator' has to  be all powerful who runs this universe and other universes perfectly.

We must accept God as supreme authority, as the substratum of the entire universe. Before beginning any meditation or auto-suggestion, we must pray to God to guide us through the meditation. We must pray to him to remove all kinds of negative thoughts and energies.

A prayer need not be a specific mantra chanted in a particular way. Prayer is a heart-to-heart communication. Pray from your heart, pray in your mother tongue. 

For the sake of simplicity and convenience, words 'meditation' and 'auto-suggestion' are used interchangeably.

In this article we will walk through a guided meditation. There are two types of guided meditation. One with just 'Relaxation' and another with 'Relaxation and Self Healing'

It is not possible to create a universal prayer or meditation as it is very subjective matter. Here an attempt is made to give general guidelines on how you can pray and meditate. After you get acquainted with the words and what to pray, it is preferable to create your own prayer and guided meditation. There are two ways to practice guided meditation.


1. Autosuggestion

2. Pre-recorded Autosuggestion (guided meditation)


Auto-suggestion

Auto-suggestion would mean that you will pray and then continue to meditate on your own without any external help. You will have to mentally instruct yourself throughout the meditation. The advantage of this kind of meditation is that you can meditate and pray on different aspects as it is not a pre-recorded one.


Pre-recorded Auto-suggestion


In this method, you will have to record prayer and meditation and then play it. Best option is to listen via headphones either by sitting comfortable in a chair or by lying down.


The advantage of this meditation is that if you have too many thoughts and cant concentrate i.e. there are too many thoughts or you get easily distracted, then this method is quite useful. Recording in your own voice is beneficial which you will understand later. Please do not doubt your own ability whether your pre-recorded meditation will be effective or not, it will definitely be effective.


Before recording your own voice, pease read this prayer and meditation a few times, relax and then record it in a peaceful tone, in serene voice, with lots of patience. It is better to take a printout. Please do not rush, there is no hurry to finish this 'project'. Take your time ... read slowly … or better memorize … and then recite. If you do not remember the words, please do not loose confidence, just wait for a few moments, ... be aware of breath, ... relax … and then continue.


You can also pass on your pre-recorded tape to your friend or a relative.


Lets begin with guided meditation. Read a few times, relax and then record it in your PC or mobile phone. Forget the world, ignore the mental chatter. Just relax. Each time you read this guided meditation, you become more and more peaceful.


Opening Prayer


Close your eyes and pray to God:


'O God your child has come to your refuge. Please accept me.

O God, take away all the mental chatter, all the worldly thoughts and fill me with divine thoughts.

'O God, please remove all kinds of negative energy, negative thoughts. Please replace them with positive and divine thoughts and divine energy.'

'O God, please give me devotion'


(Focus on one emotion at a time)


'O God, please take away stress, please give me calmness

O God, please take away hatred, jealousy, irritation. Fill me with Love

O God, please take away violent thoughts and give me Peace

O God, please take away my Ego. Make me humble'


Please repeat these prayer for 4-5 times to increase the effect and then just let-go and relax. Do not rush. Take your time.


Relaxation


Relax all muscles and feel that all negativity is taken away by God and I am now filled with peace and bliss.


Mentally say that my body is relaxed.


With each breath, my muscles are becoming more and more relaxed.


Be aware of your face. Be aware of breath and just relax. Let the jaws drops. Be aware of face. Mentally say, ‘My face is relaxed.’


Move your awareness to your neck and throat. Be aware of neck. Mentally say, ‘My neck and throat is relaxed'


Be Aware of shoulders. Mentally say, ‘My shoulders are relaxed. As you are aware, shoulder muscles are relaxed. Now move your awareness down to your hands, down to you your wrists and to the finger tips. As you slowly shift your awareness from shoulders to hands to wrists to finger and than to finger tips, they are getting relaxed. Feel your hands are relaxed.


Return the awareness to your shoulders.


Move your awareness to the Chest. Mentally say, ‘My chest is relaxed'


Move your awareness down to solar plexus, center of chest. Mentally say, ‘My solar plexus is relaxed.


Be aware of your stomach. Mentally say, ‘My stomach relaxed. Be aware of your solar plexus and chest. They are relaxed.


Move the awareness down to pelvic region. ‘My pelvic region is relaxed.'


Move your awareness to thighs. ‘My thighs are relaxed’.


Move your awareness down to knees. ‘My knees are relaxed.'


Move awareness to your calf muscles. 'My calf muscles are relaxed'


Move awareness to ankles. ‘My ankles are relaxed.'


Move your awareness you to your feet. ‘My feet are relaxed.’


Be aware of both legs. ‘My legs are relaxed’.


Be aware of legs, lower abdomen, and chest. ‘My legs and chest are relaxed.


Be aware of legs, chest, hands and shoulders. ‘My legs, chest, hands and shoulders are relaxed.


Be aware of face. ‘My face is relaxed. There is no strain on my forehead.


Be aware of the whole body. ‘My body is relaxed’. With each breath, the peace and bliss increases. Just be aware for a few breaths.


Let the thoughts come. Do not attend them. Mentally say, ‘My mind is free of thoughts’ I am filled with peace and bliss. I am happy and relaxed’.


Gently open the eyes with a smile. Rub your palms and then rub your face.


Close this auto-suggestion with Prayer


'O God, thank you so much for guiding me and taking away all the negative thoughts and emotions'

'O God, thank you for your divine grace, your your infinite compassion and mercy'

'Thank you for showing bliss and peace'

'Thank you for everything'


(You may do the Self Healing along with relaxation. or close the meditation with closing prayer. Skip this article to read the closing prayer.)


Relaxation and Self Healing


Relax all muscles and feel that all negativity is taken away by God and I am now filled with peace and bliss.


Mentally say that my body is relaxed.


With each breath, my muscles are becoming more and more relaxed.


Be aware of your face. Be aware of breath and just relax. Let the jaws drops. Be aware of face. Mentally say, ‘My face is relaxed.’ Be aware of top of your head. Visualize a brilliant white light entering your head. This while light has a cooling and peaceful effect.


Be aware of your face. Mentally say, ‘All negative energies are cleansed. My face is filled with divine energy.’


Move your awareness to your neck and throat. Be aware of neck. Mentally say, ‘My neck and throat is clean and healthy. All negative energies, thoughts and emotions are leaving my neck and throat. My throat is filled with divine energy.’


Be Aware of shoulders. Mentally say, ‘My shoulders are relaxed. As you are aware, shoulder muscles are relaxed. Now move your awareness down to your hands, down to you your wrists and to the finger tips. As you slowly shift your awareness from shoulders to hands to wrists to finger and than to finger tips, negative energy is replaced by positive divine energy. You feel your hands are relaxed. Peace and Love is vibrating through your hands.


Return the awareness to your shoulders.


Move your awareness to the Chest. Mentally say, ‘All negativities are cleansed. My chest is filled with divine light. It is filled with Love and peace’


Move your awareness down to solar plexus, center of chest. Mentally say, ‘My solar plexus is cleansed from all negativities. It is strong and healthy. All my internal organs are cleansed. They are filled with divine white light. They are strong and healthy.’ Be aware of your stomach. Mentally say, ‘My stomach is cleansed of all negative energies. It is filled with divine white light. My stomach is strong and healthy’. Be aware of your solar plexus and chest. ‘My chest and solar plexus is relaxed.’


Move the awareness down to pelvic region. ‘My pelvic region is relaxed. All negative energies are cleansed. It is strong and healthy and is filled with divine while light’.


Move your awareness to thighs. ‘My thighs are relaxed. All negative energies are cleansed. They are filled with divine while light. They are strong and healthy’.

Move your awareness down to knees. ‘My knees are relaxed. Negative energies are cleansed. My knees are filled with divine energy. They are strong and healthy.


Move awareness to your calf muscles. They are relaxed. My Calf muscles are cleansed of negative energies. They are filled with divine energy. They are strong and healthy.


Move awareness to ankles. ‘My ankles are relaxed. They are cleansed of any negative energy. They are filled with divine energy. They are strong and healthy.


Move your awareness you to your feet. ‘My feet are relaxed. They are cleansed of any negative energy and are filled with divine white light. They are strong and healthy.’

Closing Prayer


'O God, thank you so much for guiding me and taking away all the negative thoughts and emotions'

'O God, thank you for your divine grace, your your infinite compassion and mercy'

'Thank you for showing bliss and peace'

'Thank you for everything' 

'O God, take away all excess energy'

Note: If you are feeling heaviness, pray to God to take away excess energy. Pray to Prithvi devi /Prithvi Mata to absorb all excess energy. Infact it is recommended to pray to God to take away excess energy, specially when you do energy based Self-healing.


If someone has hurt you, it is recommended to forgive and forget This is highly beneficial and may have instant result. On the other hand, if you have hurt others, have guts to say sorry personally or atleast say it mentally and beg to God for forgiveness.

Pray to God to make your mind constructive so that only positive thoughts will come.


When the prayer comes straight from heart and there is strong surrender, you will get response.


Keep practising daily.


Pray to God to take away Ego that is stopping you to surrender to him. Keep praying. Live a life of prayer and meditation.


Those who are practicing japa can practice japa after this auto-suggestion. If you choose to continue, do not recite closing prayer, but pray to God to guide your through japa'

Beginning from this year, lets live a life of prayer and meditation.

Happiness is a state of mind.
